The Final Fantasy XIV game has seen its fair share of adorable creatures, warriors and moogles. These 20 are the cutest ones out there, but do you agree? Take a look at our top picks below!
The “ff14 best minions” are the cutest minons in Final Fantasy XIV. The list of 20 is compiled by players, so it’s a pretty accurate list.
On the surface, minions in Final Fantasy XIV seem to be simple collecting companions with the task of following you about.
A Gold Saucer minigame (Lord of Verminion) was added in Patch 3.1 for players who wish to dig further with their affection of these elfin sidekicks. It’s a real-time strategy game that puts teams of minions against one another for different rewards.
They come in many shapes and sizes, and while some capitalize on their already charming proportions with a more attractive appearance, others are simply… green blobs (sorry Slime Puddle).
But if you’re simply looking for cuteness, here are some of my favorite minions to add to your collection.
Baby Opo-opo (number 20)
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
When your character uses an emote, Baby Opo-opo is an excellent example of a minion with a unique animation.
This little’ lemur will hang out on your shoulders if you use the /beckon emote to target it.
Baby Opo-opo, hopefully, will never have to grow up. Unlike the adult Opo-opos in the game, who prefer to fling stones at you with their lanky arms, its huge eyes and ears are properly matched to its little frame.
Baby Opo-opo appears at the conclusion of the Brayflox’s Longstop (Hard) dungeon at random.
Ronka’s Behatted Serpent (19.)
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
To be honest, there were a few Serpents of Ronka that might have made this list.
But in the end, I had to chose the Behatted version as Ronka’s prettiest minion to carry the flag.
This hefty little snaggletoothed mustard-yellow snake, all done up in an Indiana Jones-style helmet and red and white checkered neckerchief, has something about it… It simply has something about it that makes me want to grab it and embrace it violently.
It also does a sequence of beautiful backflips when you use the /pet emote.
After earning Rank 8 (Bloodsworn) with the beast tribe, you may buy the Behatted Serpent of Ronka for 8 Qitari Compliments.
Major-General No. 18
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
I’m the absolute definition of a modern… little great white shark.
The Major-General has the tiniest lil’ legs your Lalafell pals wish they had, as well as a rather self-important style of standing up.
It enjoys engaging in a face-off with other Major-Generals, and the /pet emote allows it to swim about in a large circle in a shark-like way.
To earn this toothy admiral, you’ll need to achieve 5,000 points or more in a single ocean fishing (added in Patch 5.2) excursion while achieving the No More Fish in the Sea I Achievement.
Attendee #777 is number seventeen.
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
The Attendee #777 minion provides you one more small little upright catfish to do your bidding, as if the Mikoshi mount didn’t provide you with enough Namazu assistants.
With the /handover emote, attendee #777 feeds from your hand, and /pet causes it to flounder on the ground sideways like a fish out of water.
It manages to strike the ideal combination of adorable, devoted, and helpless at the same time.
How to obtain it: First, you must achieve Rank 4 (Trusted) with the Namazu Beast Tribe, after which you may buy Attendee #777 for 7 Namazu Koban.
16. Ghido
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Ghido, the ancient turtle, first appeared in Final Fantasy V.
In XIV, however, he appears as a small adoring minion.
Who doesn’t like little turtles?
Ghido will turn to face you if you /wave at him. When you /pet Ghido, he will swim in a short circle in front of you.
If you ever have a chance to witness the Ghido minion and the Wind-up Exdeath minion meet paths, you’ll see an unexpected interaction!
How to obtain Ghido: After finishing Stormblood’s The Sirensong Sea dungeon, Ghido may drop.
Panda’s Lesser
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Red Pandas, in my view, are cuter than black-and-white counterparts because they are smaller, more robust, have a lengthy torso, adorable ringed tails, and pinched tiny cheeks.
Fortunately for me, the Lesser Panda minion is with me at all times.
/beckon will bring Lesser Panda onto your shoulder, much like Baby Opo-opo, and there’s nothing prettier than seeing its furry copper tail stretched over your back.
It will also eat from your hand if you perform the /handover emote.
How to obtain it: After finishing Heavensward’s The Aery dungeon, a Lesser Panda may drop.
Kit of the Fox
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Fox Kit’s tail is as fluffy as a cloud and is charmingly long.
This minion, according to its description, is a spirit-in-training, and the tail and distinctive chest mane undoubtedly give it an unearthly aura.
Fox Kit will curl up into a lovely tiny ball on the ground and take a sleep if you /pet it. I constantly feel awful about relocating, which makes it want to follow me again.
Fox Kit may be obtained by purchasing three Sassho-seki Fragments (rewards for completing the Foxy Lady and Outfoxed FATEs in Yanxia).
Mameshiba is the thirteenth member of the Mameshiba clan.
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
In Japanese, “mame” signifies “bean.”
As a result, I prefer to refer to this minion as “little bean.”
She’s a sweet and obedient Shiba-Inu puppy with a wagging tail that looks to you for direction.
She’s fluffy, fresh, and well-groomed, and she’s wearing the cutest green bandana around her neck.
Plus, if you /handover her, she’ll feed from your hand, and if you /pet her, she’ll shake her coat out.
To avoid paying a high price on the Market Board for Mameshiba, you’ll need a high level Miner retainer (Highland Exploration XXII or Quick Exploration).
12. An Otter with a Greater Range
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
A larger Otter wears a Hawaiian-style open shirt, a wide-brimmed straw hat with blue sunglasses on top, a chum bucket in one paw, and a fishing rod draped over his shoulder.
He’ll take a food from your hand if you use the /handover emote, and he’ll throw a fishing line out and draw it back in if you use the /pet emote.
A wider Otter makes for a wonderful fishing partner.
How to obtain it: Your Free Company’s Submersible Voyage system may be able to bring Abroader Otter back from Deep Sea Site 7.
11. Alpha’s Wind-up
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Wind-Up Alpha is based on the chibi chocobo Alpha from Stormblood’s Omega raid series.
Its huge blue eyes and can-do attitude make you smile. It also wears unique Ironworks gear and goggles, which I like.
When you set the ‘Mammeteer’ title, it will eat from your hand if you use the /handover emote, and it will perform Alpha’s distinctive one-winged, one-leg lifted cheer if you use the /pet emote.
How to obtain it: Use a wind-up to get it. Alpha is a prize for finishing the 8-man Omega raid questline’s third and final tier (Alphascape).
Gaelikitten is number ten.
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
The Gaelikitten minion is a little gray tabby with fluttering bat-like wings on the back and a forest green cloak with a golden bell on the front.
The wing mechanism, according to the item description, is a mystery.
But it’s so adorable that you don’t care how it works.
Gaelikitten will land on your shoulder and stand on its hind legs after standing AFK for a long time, vacantly scanning the landscape with you.
After a time, it’ll also conduct a touching circular fly-around glide.
How to obtain it: The Gaelikitten minion drops after finishing the Sohm Al dungeon in Heavensward.
9. Nutkin
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Nutkin is a teeny-tiny gray squirrel infant that is obsessed with acorns.
It has the sweetest eyes and bushy tail and is always chewing on an acorn.
Nutkin will eat from your hand with /handover, rest on your shoulder with /beckon (hope you don’t mind it chowing down up there), and have one of my favorite /pet emotes – it will do an adorable forward tumble over its acorn, briefly becoming frazzled before remembering to rush back to its comfort ‘corn.
How to gain Nutkin: Deciphering Unhidden Leather Maps and defeating the creatures that spawn from them will earn you Nutkin.
Eft Eft Eft Eft Eft Eft Eft Eft E
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Axolotl Eft is a little pink floating salamander with a chubby rotund head and beady little eyes that appear to be pleading for your attention all the time.
Its squanch visage doesn’t quite match the real-life species that inspired it…
But, of course, that’s what makes it more cuter.
It will feed from your hand if you use the /handover emote, and it will joyfully swim upward if you use the /pet emote.
Axolotl Eft is a possible prize for sending your high-level Fisher retainer out on the Waterside Exploration XXII adventure.
Sand Fox is number seven.
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Sand Fox, unlike the Fox Kit previously on the list, has a shorter tail than the Fox Kit.
However, it develops the prettiest fluffy round face with a dismissive “over-it” expression.
Sand Fox and his piercing look symbolize a distinct aspect of adorability, and there’s no better minion to represent it than him.
Sand Fox will eat from your hand if you use the /handover emote, and it will inspect the terrain if you use the /pet emote.
Sand Fox costs 400 Faux Leaves to get (rewards for playing the Faux Hollows minigame in Idyllshire once per week after completing the current Unreal trial).
Seal with salt and pepper
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Salt & Pepper Seal does, in fact, have a body distinct from its head upon closer inspection.
It’s just that it’s so fat and mushy that it’s difficult to detect.
It has the tiniest tiny tail and fins, as well as almond eyes that sometimes snooze.
It includes one of my favorite /pet animations, when it falls over to the side and reveals its large belly, in addition to feeding off your hand with /handover (these minions are certainly hungry…).
Salt & Pepper Seal is a rare item that can be obtained after finishing Stormblood’s Drowned City of Skalla dungeon.
5. Boko Bom
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Bom Boko is a spritely raccoon (tanuki) pup with a familiar-looking green leaf on its forehead, and it’s a spiritual tribute to Nintendo’s Animal Crossing brand.
Let’s hope it’s following you about because it wants to, not because it’s in desperate need of your next mortgage payment.
Its /pet animation is pretty unique: Bom Boko performs a backflip in the air, lands in an improvised steel pot, and as the green leaf slowly descends, it pops its head out just in time for the leaf to drop back on its head.
Bom Boko is obtained through completing high-level retainer missions (Field Exploration XX/XXII).
4. Drippy
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Drippy is a sentient rainwater amalgam that floats.
He’s bear-shaped, with cute ears and eyes, and a little scepter in one limb (I’m not sure whether the term ‘paw’ is suitable here).
Think of Pokemon’s Marill/Azumarill, but sans the mouth. That’s Drippy for you.
Drippy conducts a lively dance culminating with a spinning flourish when you use /pet, in addition to eating from your hand using /handover.
Drippy has a chance to drop after finishing Matoya’s Relict, a Shadowbringers Patch 5.4 dungeon.
Yukinko Snowflake is number three.
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
The Yukinko Snowflake minion seems to have the same form and face as the Korpokkur, another famous (and extremely charming) monster in Final Fantasy XIV.
Except this one is a white puffball, not a green one, and he’s covered in a thatched straw roof and cap to keep it safe from the weather.
With /handover, Yukinko Snowflake feeds from your hand, and /pet causes it to float up in the air and back down.
How to obtain it: If you unlock lockboxes within The Forbidden Land, Eureka Hydatos, there’s a possibility this minion will drop.
Fat Cat No. 2
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
Fat Cat is the first charming minion in Final Fantasy XIV.
It was was highly sought after by high-level players during the A Realm Reborn era (2014-15), but it’s currently quite common.
It’s grown so popular that there’s even a mount version floating around.
Its appeal stems from its simplicity — it’s just a really chubby cat.
I like the way it moves, and with /handover, it feeds from your hand. Fat Cat, on the other hand, has a beautiful idle animation instead of a /pet interaction (it lazily flops over to one side).
How to obtain it: Various high-level Fisher enterprises may provide you with your own Fat Cat (level 50-80).
Tora-jiro (Tora-jiro) is a Japanese word that
All Rights Reserved / SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Image Source
For the cutest FFXIV minions ever designed, it’s cats all the way down.
Tora-jiro, the lovely tiny tiger cub, is the winner.
Tora-jiro triumphs only because to its eyes. You’ll almost feel guilty summoning a new minion and storing this tiny man since the designers got the nail on the head with this one.
With the ‘Mammeteer’ title enabled, Tora-treasured jiro’s idle animation might be triggered, in which it tries to pounce on shadows it finds on the ground.
Tora-jiro may be acquired at Rhalgr’s Reach for 800 Centurion Seals.
The “minion movie” is a movie that was released in 2015. It is about the top 20 cutest minions ever made.
