Sony Announces Official Console Covers for the PlayStation 5, Including New DualSense Wireless Controller Colors

PlayStation 5 will be here soon and Sony is not wasting any time with the game announcements. In fact, they announced a version of the DualSense controller in five new colors to match newly revealed PlayStation 5 console covers!

The “ps5 black controller” is a special edition PlayStation 5 controller that comes in a sleek black color. The new colors will be released on December 10th, 2018.

It’s a happy day for PlayStation 5 users who aren’t fond of their next-gen systems’ mostly white color palette.

Sony has published a new post on the PlayStation Blog indicating that official PS5 covers will be released in the near future. Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple are among the hues. It’s simple to put them together; all you have to do is click them into position.

New DualSense Wireless Controllers in Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple complement the covers. (The controllers are already available in Cosmic Red and Midnight Black.)

PlayStation’s description:

These new console covers are stylish and simple to use: just remove your old white PS5 console covers and replace them with the new ones. The PS5 console covers will be available separately from the PS5 console and DualSense controller for both the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and the PS5 Digital Edition.

The PS5 console covers in Midnight Black and Cosmic Red will be available at participating retailers in the following countries starting in January 2022: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. During the first half of 2022, the Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue PS5 console covers will also be available in these areas. We aim to release the PS5 console covers in other areas later this year, and we’ll let you know as soon as we get more information.

Sony hasn’t said when the new DualSense wireless controller colors and PS5 console covers will be available in all regions, but it has said that the Galactic Purple DualSense wireless controller will be available on direct.playstation.com on January 14 for the US, UK, France, and Germany, and at participating retailers on February 11 for the rest of the world.

The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red PS5 console covers will be available on direct.playstation.com starting January 21 and at other participating shops starting February 18.
