One of the most exciting parts of the AMD RX 8000 series is the inclusion of the new 4th Gen Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, which brings unprecedented levels of performance and efficiency to the table. And, while the series’ iGPUs may have been somewhat lacking in some areas, the RX 6600’s performance in games is looking pretty good.
A couple weeks ago, the folks at Tom’s Hardware took the wraps off of a new graphics card from AMD, the Radeon RX 6600 (Non-XT). This new card is based on the venerable RX 6000 series, but it’s not an upgrade from the 6000-series, rather, this is a new product that’s based on the RX 5000 series. Its come to my attention that the Radeon RX 6600 (Non-XT) is nearly performing the same as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. The Radeon RX 6600 (Non-XT) has a lot of the same features as the GeForce RTX 3060, such as the same amount of TFLOPS or teraFLOPS, and the same amount of parallel processing. However, the Radeon RX 6600 (Non-XT) has the advantage of being a little cheaper than the GeForce RTX 3060.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT, AMD’s newest RDNA 2 graphics card, was launched on August 11, 2021. Following that, a weaker, non-XT model will be released.
It’s unknown when the GPU will be revealed, but Igor’s Lab has already benchmarked a Radeon Pro W6600 to get a sense of how it’ll perform. (They utilize the same chips, according to Igor Wallossek.)
According to Igor’s benchmarks, the Radeon RX 6600 will compete closely with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060; in the 1080p test, the RTX 3060 achieves an average score of 100, while the emulated Radeon RX 6600 achieves an average score of 96. It’s just a difference of four points.
Another benchmark tests the Radeon RX 6600’s power usage. In the Full HD test, the Radeon RX 6600 is found to use 123 watts, whereas the GeForce RTX 3060 is shown to consume 165.6 watts.
AMD’s price for the Radeon RX 6600 could be fascinating to watch. Nobody appeared pleased with the $379 MSRP of the XT variant.

AMD Radeon RX 6600 (Non-XT) Seems to Perform Very Closely to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 So, the previous entry was a test of the performance of AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 (Non-XT) against the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 , and it showed that the two cards are indeed quite comparable. Besides offering the same performance, the most notable difference that we could notice was in the noise levels of the two cards, with the Radeon being far quieter.
