We’ve all heard of the dogs of Sea of Thieves, the majestic and loyal companion who will stand by your side through thick and thin. They’re your loyal friends, they’ll follow you on adventures around the world, they can be your best friend. But how good are they at being a dog? Since we can’t play Sea of Thieves ourselves, we teamed up with onG.me to rank the best dogs in the game!

Best Dogs in Sea Of Thieves (Ranked) – The dog is a character that has always had a place in the world of videogames. From the old days of the Nintendo with Bowser, the Pac-Man character, and the new super-popular game Dogs of War from Rare
If your crew is unable to accompany you on the high seas, the life of a pirate may be lonely.
You may bring a four-legged friend along to partake in the rewards of your travels, so don’t worry.
There are hundreds to pick from, and they’d all be happy to call your ship home.
I’ll be showcasing some of the game’s better dog choices in this list, but keep in mind that every dog is the greatest dog!
Redback Whippet (number 10)
On the seas, there are days when things just don’t go your way.
The Kraken appears, you’re pursued and killed by Reapers, and your treasure vanishes due to a server merging… Hopefully, you get the concept.
You need to see a pleasant face at times like this.
The Redback Whippet has the friendliest face of all!
This pirate dog has a constant smile on its face, regardless of how bad your adventures are going.
And it’s enough to put a smile on anyone’s face.
If only my team was that upbeat while we were being pelted with cannonballs.
9. Alsatian Saddleback
If you wish to impose law and order on the high seas, first and foremost, good luck.
Second, you’ll need a four-legged companion who looks the part.
The Saddleback Alsatian is the closest thing in Sea Of Thieves to a police dog.
The main difference is that this one left the Pirate Emporium’s intimidation behind.
Even if you can’t, this dog seems to be able to manage itself on the high seas.
And sometimes it’s all about appearances.
8. Alsatian with a lot of snow
In Sea of Thieves, the majority of the dogs are adorable.
However, finding something a bit more big and magnificent is far more difficult.
The Snowy Alsatian, which looks more like an Arctic Wolf — at least most of the time – is the closest you can get.
The Snowy Alsatian, like other Alsatians, has a characteristic derpy grin on its face if you approach too near.
At a distance, this dog seems magnificent, yet up close, it just wants affection and goodies!
Whippet Whippet Whippet Whippet Whippet Whippet Whi
You may be surprised to learn that you can buy clothes for your dog.
Some of the dogs’ clothes, in my opinion, seem a little out of place.
The Silverfoot Whippet, on the other hand, can go with any ensemble.
The Silverfoot Whippet is a grey and white variant of the Redback Whippet from before, and it still smiles from ear to ear no matter what.
Give him the Pirate Legend costume, and he’ll have more class than the rest of your crew combined!
Cotton Boll Inu, No. 6
This next dog wins the prize of being the most adorable & cuddly dog on the seas.
The Cotton Boll Inu does really resemble a cotton ball.
But don’t be fooled by looks.
No matter what you’re up against or who you’re up against, this cuddly puppy will accompany you into war. Just don’t anticipate any assistance other than to bark your opponents to death.
5. The Heart Dog of the Reaper
This is the dog to seek for if sailing under the Reaper flag isn’t cutting it and you truly want to strike terror into your opponents’ hearts.
The Reaper’s Heart Dog costs 649 Ancient Coins, which is a bit more than the usual pet.
However, there isn’t another dog like it.
This isn’t the friend to bring if you’re trying to be covert, with glowing eyes and a bright glowing red heart on its breast…
But, if robbing ships of their valuable Emissary Flags is the order of the day, I doubt you’re concerned about being spotted.
4. Alsatian Gold Curse
It’ll always be tough in the beginning when you’re out on the water.
However, after you’ve figured out the ropes, you’ll be swimming in cash.
It’s all about the cosmetics in Sea of Thieves. What better way to flaunt your wealth than with a solid gold dog?
This Gold Curse Alsatian is just what you need to be a show-off like that.
But don’t forget that it adores petting just like any other dog!
Cursing a dog may seem harsh, but this adorable walking gold bar doesn’t seem to mind.
There’s no better pet to have at your side if you’re collecting for the Gold Hoarders.
3. Inu of the Glacial Curse
Sorry, Pirates, but this isn’t a sign that an Ice Biome will be added to the map anytime soon.
This pup, on the other hand, is a fantastic way to get a calm pet aboard your ship.
Don’t be fooled by the icicles; the Glacial Curse Inu is just as affectionate and energetic as the other dogs on this list.
You can even buy clothing and dress up like your dog to become one of “those” pet owners (hey, I’m not judging!) since this dog is part of the Frozen Horizon Set.
This dog is one-of-a-kind, magnificent, and distinguishes itself in a manner that few other dogs can.
2. Inu Coral
Making a name for yourself and being notorious on the Sea of Thieves is difficult.
However, if it is what you really want, you are in luck!
Kind of.
Because the Coral Inu looks so much like a Shiba Inu, you may have the Doge himself roaming about your ship and accompanying you on your travels.
Needless to say, the Coral Inu is extremely lovely and has celebrity status unlike any other pet!
Perfect for the Pirate who doesn’t mind being outshined by his or her canine companion.
1. Inmate Dog
The Prison Canine is the only dog that suits the pirate lifestyle.
This is the most recent canine to be added to the game as of this writing.
Does this seem familiar to you?
This looks like something out of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
If you’re disappointed that you won’t be able to purchase a Jack Sparrow skin for your Pirate, this scruffy pooch will suffice.
It also has the ring of keys in its mouth for genuine. So there’s nothing preventing you from teasing crew members who wound up in your brig.
I said at the start of this list that every dog was the greatest dog, and we all know that to be true.
However, if you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind pet that will fit aboard any ship, the Prison Dog is the way to go.
