A few days back we heard from Deep Silver, who revealed they’ll be teaming up with Housemarque to create a new Dead Space game. This week’s edition of Drops is jam packed with all the info you need to know about the latest games, rumors, and news about the industry. We’re starting with the big news, obviously, and that’s the announcement of a remastered version of Dead Space. The game’s creator, Visceral Games, is working with EA on the remaster, which is called Dead Space 3: Awakened.
Here at PS5 Gamers, we’re back with another fresh game update. The Non-E3 EA event has come and gone, and we had a good showing. We received some more information on some of the forthcoming games we were anticipating. PSN, Xbox Live, and Steam were all down for a brief while yesterday, and there was more! Let’s get started!
We’ve learned that Dead Space will be remade from the ground up and will be exclusive to current-generation platforms. I understand that some people believe the PS4 and Xbox One X/S are still current, but they are, unfortunately, last-generation systems. Sorry. A Dead Space Remake is excellent news for current-gen console owners. Personally, I am ecstatic!
Battlefield 2024 will receive a sandbox option dubbed Battlefield Portal, which was revealed during the EA Play event. Players will be able to create their own Battlefield experience from the ground up. Furthermore, gamers may share their creations with others to test. It seems to be something that might have been included in previous releases, but it finally works for me. There seems to be a lot more coming to Battlefield 2024, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the real hands-on game comes out.
Did you have any trouble going online yesterday? You weren’t alone, after all. The internet was creating issues for PlayStation, Xbox, and Stream players equally for some reason! The internet wasn’t having it, and it wasn’t because of any of the businesses that control the services mentioned above. It wasn’t down for long, and by the time most people heard about it, it was fixed, but I couldn’t help but laugh when I started seeing comments on social media about how one service was better because the other was down… well, let’s just say a fool will make a fool of themselves even when there’s plenty of time to avoid it. Congratulations to those who handled the trolling with a dash of humor and a dash of compassion.
Greetings to any soccer enthusiasts who are reading this post. Pro Evolution Soccer has been renamed eFootball, and it is now completely free to play. eFootball is set to debut this autumn for last-generation consoles, current-generation consoles, and PC, but not Nintendo. Nintendo is in its own market, and I don’t believe the business cares. eFootball, on the other hand, is a cross-platform title, so you won’t be limited to the console family you usually play on. To play online, you won’t require a membership service.
The other day, Call of Duty Black Ops and Warzone received mid-season upgrades. Weapon balancing, bug fixes, and other improvements were made, but Warzone received something special. Payload, a new game mode that, if I’m being honest, doesn’t really fit within the Call of Duty series in my view.
For starters, many individuals seem to be confused about how the game mode works. The majority of players are either in it for the kills and don’t give a damn, or they’re simply running about whining while being picked off. TTK is much greater than in conventional Warzone, which I don’t believe helps things. The mode in and of itself isn’t doing anything for Warzone, but congratulations to those who are enjoying it. I’ll continue to play payload modes in other games and enjoy the BR mode whenever I can.
So, unconnected to Call of Duty, but linked to the publishing business, Activision Blizzard is in deep water, and if the accusations are accurate, this corporation deserves it all. If you haven’t heard, the state of California has filed a sexual harassment and discrimination case against the business. It seems to have been going on for years and has been pushed under the carpet.
If this is the truth, Activision Blizzard will face severe consequences from the gaming community, as well as the police and the rest of the media. If a closer investigation into all of the businesses associated with Activision were to happen by accident, this may also harm percent corporation Activision in the long term. If these accusations are proven to be accurate, perhaps justice will be done.
Activision Blizzard titles are already being boycotted, with media sites and live broadcasters announcing that they would no longer cover the company’s games. Prima Games even said on Twitter that it would not cover anything from Activision, Blizzard, or Ubisoft since Ubisoft is now facing similar severe accusations. This seems to be only the beginning, so we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
