After a year of rumors and speculation, Bethesda Softworks has finally provided an official roadmap for the Fallout 76 game. The “year 2021” mentioned in this roadmap is the official release of the game as well as the end of the game’s in-development phase and thus the end of the game’s beta phase.
In a new interview with Tess and Steve, Pete Hines has confirmed that Fallout 76 will have no end game, and will continue to be supported. This will be a topic of some controversy amongst fans.
Fallout 76 will continue to receive content at a steady pace throughout 2021. Bethesda confirmed this today, revealing the roadmap for the 2021 game and talking about the new features coming later this year. Fallout 76’s roadmap for 2021 shows that four major updates are expected throughout the year, each introducing a new season of rewards that players can add to their collection. As we already know, at 27. April released the Locked & Loaded update, which includes S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Loads, C.A.M.P. locations, dummies, and the first Daily Ops expansion. It will also kick off the fourth season, in which Ace’s Armor will take on Commissioner Chaos and the Yukon Five. In July, the Steel Reign update will be released, bringing the Brotherhood of Steel storyline in Appalachia to an end, and new quests, new locations, new NPCs, and powerful new rewards. The update will also include legendary power armor, as well as legendary modules that allow players to create certain legendary items. A fifth season called Escape from the 42nd Century also begins with this update, which adds unlimited season ranks. The second half of the Fallout 76 2021 roadmap is a little less detailed, but it still gives us some clues about what to expect. Fall will bring an update for Worlds Are Changing, with Bethesda promising , Private Worlds development, , the second Daily Ops expansion, and Season 6. Tales from the Stars is the name of the latest update, due out this winter. Season 7 begins, with four-star legendary weapons and armor and C.A.M.P. animals to make your home base a little warmer. Community challenge: The Invaders from Beyond event gives server players even more reasons to get together, complete tasks, fight brand new enemies and earn new star rewards. Finally, Ritual is a new seasonal event in which players help the Appalachian Cultists of Point Pleasant prepare an exciting and dangerous ritual and receive unique rewards in return. Like 2020, Fallout 76’s roadmap could change in 2021. Content can be carried over from one update to the next or after the scheduled release. Yet after a shaky start, Appalachia seems to come more alive each time. The most recent update to the game’s roadmap has been removed from the official site, so it is not clear if the game is still in development or not.
